The main objective of this training is to educate and train the external stakeholders from small and medium shipyards including the engineering students specializing in the robotics and naval technologies.
The main learning outcome will be:
1. Understanding and practical insights into the industrial robot programming (ABB robot and RobotStudio)
2. Understanding and practical insights into the industrial robot hand guiding applications for manipulating heavy and large components (ABB and KUKA industrial robots)
3. Understanding and practical insights into robot safety cell for industrial applications (Human tracking, Speed and Sperate Monitoring, and other safety sensors hands on; cobots and localization using perception).

Agenda:

  • Day 1: 9:00-1600 (coffee and lunch breaks included)
  • Day 2: 9:00-13:00 (coffee and lunch breaks included)

Jawad is a seasoned robotics expert and the head of the ARTA team at AIMEN Technology Center in Spain.
With a track record in academia and industry, including postdoctoral research at prestigious institutions, he has shaped safety standards for
robotics and led projects for automotive applications.
Afra Maria Pertusa, AIMEN
Afra Maria Pertusa, AIMEN
Afra is a Robotics Engineer with a Masters Degree in Industrial IT. She belongs to the robotics group at AIMEN since 2020. During this period, she has been programming robot control software for industrial and collaborative robots mainly in human-shared environments, and its integration with Robotic Operating System (ROS). She is actively involved in national and European projects.

Isidro is a dedicated professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Automation and Electronics from Vigo University,
he bring over five years of experience as a robotic technician at ABB Robotics, contributing to the automation projects at PSA Car Factory.
Since 2012, he have been actively involved in various R&D projects at Aimen, focusing on robotics and automation.
His involvement in European projects such as FORTISSIMO2, SEERS, and MASHES has further honed my expertise in the field.

Claudio is a robotics engineer at AIMEN Technology Center in Spain and PhD candidate at University of Vigo, Spain. He is an expert in software architectures, executive control in robotics and system integration with a wealth of experience in software development industry as well as European projects.
Alejandro Carmona, Canonical Robots
Alejandro Carmona, Canonical Robots
Alejandro has a degree in Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering from the Polytechnic School of Engineering of Gijón. He has experience in the field of collaborative robotics implementing solutions based on computer vision and arc welding applications. He has also worked in the design and implementation of electronic measurement equipment (electronic design, mechanical design and software development).
