Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and Iuvo Publications

In June 2022, the Mari4_YARD partners Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and Iuvo presented the paper “Kinematics-based Adaptive Assistance of a Semi-Passive Upper-Limb Exoskeleton for Workers in Static and Dynamic Tasks“, on IEEE ROBOTICS AND AUTOMATION LETTERS.

Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and its spin-off company Iuvo present H-PULSE, an upper-limb exoskeleton able to auto-tune the level of the assistance according to the kinematics characteristics of the task. In particular, their new paper reports the design, development, and experimental evaluation of the algorithm at the base of the adaptive performance of the exoskeleton. Compared to working without it, the exoskeleton controlled by the proposed algorithm can reduce the flexor and extensor muscular activity of the user in both dynamic and static tasks by about 20% and 40%, respectively.
